Irreplaceable

Nothing replaces hanging around a close friend or friends casually sitting anywhere talking and laughing about anything. It’s a form of intimacy that has yet to be replicated in these virtual worlds. No talking on phones or texting across platforms and video chats. That ability to hug, high-five, tickle, snuggle, fist bump, kiss, play with someone’s hair, dance without music or even throw water on each other is such an integral part of living. It’s nourishing and so many of us are being kept or keeping ourselves malnourished. We don’t need a club, food, movie, dancing, hookah, music venue or any type of extra activity to partake of this goodness and yet… here we are sending emojis and gifs over an electronic network unable to feel the sound of each others heartbeat. Sometimes we even live in the same areas and don’t even try to reconcile the lost opportunities.

I think I might be dead.
