No one entertainer, song writer, singer, musician has had such a personal impact on my psyche as Chris Cornell.  The news today of his passing hit me like being awakened out of a sound sleep by a bashing punch to the head.  So many of his songs rang through and echoed out of my soul.  No single song writer ever sang words that I felt so powerfully.  Song after song.  Hit after hit.  Whether in his bands Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog and Audioslave or as a solo artist his words and music always stuck with me. They always settled so personal with me.

He inspired me just for being an outstanding human being.  He was always standing up for the oppressed.  Always taking on social issues.  He took the stage each night as a loving husband and father to his family.  So much about Chris Cornell helped lift me up and keep a belief in my fellow man.

Although, it’s really a matter of talent artists to artists  throughout time, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention his incredible voice.  Amazing range and always full of emotion. That alone made me a fan of him.  Then all of his words and songs kick in with all of their potency. Yeah, he was great.

There are troubling reports of how he ended, but ultimately it really doesn’t matter.  He’s gone.  Still, what is left is his legacy and all those powerful songs that so many of us have made our own.  I’m sure mine is not the only life he saved through his music.  No matter why or how he left, he made this world a better place for his time with us.

Andrew and Chris are re-united.

I never wanted to write these words down for you… So I blow out the candle, and I put you to bed… [There is] just one thing left to be said
Say hello to heavenChris Cornell
